Olivia Morgan

Born and raised in Stockton, CA, Olivia has been singing and performing all her life.  Any chance she could, she was up front and center.  Her Daddy was a radio DJ, so his love of music was definitely an influence on her.  She spent many Saturdays listening and singing with her Momma to R&B, Carly Simon, & Linda Ronstadt, among so many others, while she was also teaching her to cook...her other passion.   Her "gift" comes from her mother, who has a beautiful voice, but never gave any thought to pursuing something with it.  However, when, at a young age, someone mentioned that Olivia sounded good when she sang, she ran with that, and has never stopped!  Choir classes-always vying for the solos, weddings, parties, karaoke.  And to this day, her older sister is her biggest fan.

She was performing live one Sunday night for a Downtown Diva's show at Faces, a club in midtown Sacramento, when she met Casey, her manager.  She was singing what has now become her "signature" song, At Last, and afterward, Casey approached her and said she loves Etta James, but that Olivia just made her forget how that even sounds.  What a huge compliment!  Casey asked if she wanted to perform more, and Olivia responded with an emphatic yes, and they forged a friendship from that point.  Casey offered to do all the foot work, as long as Olivia came through to perform.  DONE DEAL!
Born on Valentine's Day, Olivia thinks it's a sign she was meant to be a part of something bigger, otherwise so many people wouldn't be celebrating her birthday with her! ;)

I still have the demo CD, titled Love Bein' Here, recorded at Milestone Mediaworks in Los Gatos, CA.
In the meantime, I am continuing to perform songs from my heart that mean something to me, and let me reach out to my audience .  Please come to a show, I will not let you down!  I like to bring you in to what I'm feeling and keep you a part of a musical ride...sometimes we fall off, but that's half the fun!

Read the interview in OutWord.  What a thrill it was to have them do that!  Lisa did such a great job!  .
It's a huge credit to her and her interest in the music that led
so many more people to know about what we're trying to do.
I have a full press kit done through DIG Music, so if you are interested in booking me, I can get that to you as well.  Please don't hesitate to contact me at the email address for anything.
I do have a page on MySpace Music, and it has helped me to broaden who has a chance to hear me, and find out about upcoming shows, OliviaMorganHipLip
I can also still be found at ERC Registry.  Please go there and let me, and other people, know what you thought of any of the performances you've seen, even if it's just been a guest appearance somewhere.  It helps to get new people to shows if they see a review, and to get more bookings if they see that the crowd took the time to say they'd come back!

My shows so far have been a success.  I was privileged to do a  "Jazz Sunday" at Marilyn's, several "Second Saturday's" at Head Hunters, Rancho Murieta Country Club, Marshall Park's new opening, and be part of the MUSIC IN THE PARK Series, performing at Royer Park!  You can watch that show here - Royer Park Roseville Public Access  That was a blast!  Jack Mootz continues to help and support me by always inviting me to do a song at his performances.  I am so grateful for that!   And I have met amazing musicians throughout these last 4 years!  Aaron Gayden is one of my new keys guys, and he too, asks me to sit in when he's with his other band, and he's helping me write some originals.  Jim Wendt has palyed for me several times, and has one of the best spirits I've come across.

Thanks to all of you for your outstanding support.  Playing to a great audience makes all the difference in the world.  Love you guys!  Please do me a favor and sign the guestbook while you're here.  When new shows come up, it's great to have one base for all contacts. But more importantly, I'd love to hear some personal comments.  Let me know what song is your favorite, any requests you may have, and tell me if there's something you're not in to...like no more low cut dresses...LOL...
but be gentle, though, I'm fragile! ;)

Hey Everyone!  We have a new band, and great new music!  Be ready for some of the oldies but goodies you've heard before, but we're also turning it up a notch, and bringing some funk!  I'm excited about the new people helping me to change in the direction I've been looking for, and working on originals as well.  Hopefully at our New Year's Eve Gig we can give you a sneak peek with one of our originals.  And come 2009, we'll have a new, full length CD!  Fingers crossed.

Hey everyone! We're still workin hard on originals, but we have some great new stuff we've added to the all set lists.  However, we've lost one of our players, so if you're interested playing with us, contact me!!! :)  I'd be interested in hearing from anyone, but we need keys and/or lead guitar to play melody.  We're looking forward to seeing you at our gigs this spring/summer, as soon as we firm those dates up.  Thanks for still coming!  Traffics is up, so you must still be coming back! :)  Love you all!

I'm awaiting a yummy delivery a Vosages chocolates today - mmmm! :)  Just threw that in, cuz sometimes things are so good, you gotta share, but I digress...back to music!  LOL  I linked my FaceBook page here, for those who I've made connections with on there, to head over here, so you can keep up on my crazy ramblings if it's what you so choose to do, as well as my MySpace link is still up above, which is much more public.  The last show was amazing!  The new band, and new music was awesome! Life is so good when you're doing the things you love!  Won't let the setbacks get me down, all good things come in time.  Full length CD in 2010?!  YES!  I'm casting a spell!  ;)
